John Duffin is President at Clarke Solutions and Acquire Automation, managing and directing business strategy and operations. Additionally, he sits on the board of The Clarke Companies, majority stakeholder for both corporations.
John has spent his entire career with The Clarke Companies. He started as an engineer executing projects for Fortune 100 Pharmaceutical clients; his first years were focused on obtaining experience in engineering, automation and validation. Over the years he continued to take on increasing roles within the organization. After continuing to gain increasing responsibility with Clarke Solutions clients and account management, John later accepted a position to start up the Acquire Automation portion of the business in 2007.
After successfully developing and sustaining Acquire as a leader in vision inspection and automation, John moved into a joint Clarke/Acquire Vice President role to further assist in management of the overall operations. Due to Chris Clarke’s, founder and original President, untimely passing, John was selected to assume the role of President for both Clarke and Acquire. John successfully led the transition of the companies through a tragic situation; continuing to grow and sustain The Clarke Companies as a leading provider of manufacturing, packaging, automation, and vision inspection solutions.
John provides leadership and experience within engineering, operations, sales and marketing. John is focused on the core of our business and setting the strategic vision for our team. His combination of technical and managerial background enables him to understand and support our clients by providing not just a service, but effective solutions.
Originally from Indianapolis, John earned a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering with a minor in Management from Purdue University – West Lafayette. John resides in Noblesville with wife Amy, a graphic designer. They have a son and daughter, and are members of Holy Spirit at Geist Parish.
Paul Edelman is Vice President at Clarke Solutions. He has strong leadership skills and has managed many large- and small-scale projects in the life sciences industry since joining Clarke Solutions. His main areas of expertise are equipment requirements, design, selection, serialization, installation, packaging, commissioning and qualification. Paul has managed several complete line integration projects at our Fishers CES facility and at customer sites. He is passionate about delivering high quality engineering solutions and developing mutually beneficial partnerships with our clients.
Paul is responsible for New Business Development as Clarke Solutions continues to expand throughout the Midwest and beyond. He joined Clarke Companies in 2002 after 18 years as plant manager, technical director, vice president and general manager at Pliant Corp. in Shelbyville, IN. Paul led the project team that developed and commercialized the Slide-Loc® bag. Paul earned a packaging degree from Michigan State University.
Chief Financial Officer
Steve Williams is the Chief Financial Officer of Clarke Engineering Services & Acquire Automation. In his role as Chief Financial Officer, Steve is responsible for the overall financial planning and performance of the Companies. He directs the preparation of and reporting against the annual budget.
A Certified Public Accountant, he spent the first 10 years of his career at Ernst & Young serving primarily privately owned entrepreneurial companies. Prior to joining Clarke in October, 2015, Steve had also served as Chief Financial Officer for a few private companies and a division of a large public multinational company.
A graduate of Franklin Central High School in Indianapolis, IN., Steve earned a Bachelor’s degree from Manchester University (N. Manchester, IN). Steve enjoys volunteering at his church and soccer club, participating in sports and reading. He is married and has two children who attend Heritage Christian.
Director of Engineering
Stacy brings over 20 years of Project Management and Validation experience to our customer base. She is the Director of Engineering responsible for training, standardization, and creating an institutionalized knowledge base. She has successfully managed engineering and validation projects in the pharmaceutical industry for numerous global pharmaceutical manufacturing clients.
Prior to her joining Clarke Solutions, she was a production and warehouse supervisor at Pepsi-Cola. Stacy graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and is an active member of the International Society of Pharmaceutical Engineers (ISPE). Stacy was the first employee that joined Clarke Group, having been with the firm since 1999.
Director of Operations
Christopher L. Washington
Christopher L. Washington is Director of Operations with for Clarke Solutions where he leads several teams of multi-disciplinary Engineers in support of various Clarke customers.
Chris started his career in the pharmaceutical industry where he gained experience in inspection, labeling, and packaging. He started as a line operator working in and around the daily operations. Chris also worked in Technical Services supporting various projects, batch documentation, and equipment validation. His experience in these roles was an invaluable experience that has proven to be the foundation of his career.
Following that work in the pharmaceutical industry, he ventured into the world of medical devices where he expanded his knowledge of the life sciences. Here Chris focused on software, equipment, and system/process remediation. Now, as part of Clarke, Chris has been in roles of increasing responsibility ranging from a senior level engineer to management. In his current role as Director of Operations, Chris provides oversight and management of business operations as well as supports tactical corporate level projects, company-wide resource planning, and executes key business initiatives. Chris’s breadth of experience at all levels across the life sciences industries provides him with the perspective and knowledge it takes to lead successful teams and deliver top-notch solutions to customers. Originally from Indiana, Chris holds a B.S. in Informatics with a focus in Business from Indiana University – Bloomington.
Aimee Parrish is the HR Manager for The Clarke Companies, Clarke Solutions and Acquire Automation. In her role, she has a strong knowledge in recruitment, employee relations, leadership and employee development, training, compensation and benefits.
Aimee joined The Clarke Companies in 2012. Before joining The Clarke Companies, she worked at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. for 6 years, for the Athletics and Recreation Department. During her time at Northwestern she led various sports programs including the Club Sport Department comprised of 21 Big10 teams with over 800 participants, and the Wildcat Sports Camp.
Aimee earned her undergraduate degree in Sports Management with a minor in Business from Valparaiso University in 1992. She also has a master’s degree in Sports Management from the University of Iowa.
Originally from Mason City, IA., Aimee resides in Fishers, IN. with her husband Shawn and their two daughters, Lauryn and Sydney.
Kim Sohn is the Controller for The Clarke Companies, Clarke Solutions and Acquire Automation.
Kim joined The Clarke Companies in 2015. Before joining Clarke, Kim worked for more than 25 years in numerous leadership capacities as an Accounting professional. She brings to Clarke a diverse background that includes private industry, technology, consulting, contracting and federal agency experience.
Kim earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Akron – Akron, OH.
Originally from Mentor, OH, Kim has spent the last 17 years in Indiana. She is married with two grown children and a stepson.
Chris Clarke (December 10, 1968 – June 22, 2014) was Founder and President of Clarke Solutions (formerly Clarke Engineering Services or CES) and sister company Acquire Automation. Originally from Johannesburg, South Africa, Chris founded Clarke in 1997 after working as a project engineer for nine years at a major global pharmaceutical company in Indianapolis. He earned both a bachelors and masters degrees in engineering from Michigan State University.
Chris founded Clarke because he saw a significant need for specialized manufacturing, packaging and validation expertise for regulated industries. Since its founding, Clarke has grown from a single employee firm to over 100 employees with continued annual growth.
His legacy at Clarke will carry on as we live to fulfill the mission of understanding customer needs and delivering premium solutions that consistently exceed expectations. Chris was passionate about engineering and worked hard to develop a family-focused company while still providing superior engineering solutions and services.
Chris was also a founder and board president of the Verbal Behavior Center for Autism in Indianapolis. His many passions included his beloved family, business, swimming, and cycling. He is survived by his wife, Jane Clarke, and two daughters and a son.
